Frequently Asked Questions
What is TierReader?
TierReader is a language-learning app that generates AI-powered graded reading passages tailored to your level, with built-in vocabulary review and spaced repetition. You read short stories at a difficulty that suits you, tap words to learn them, and review them over time so they stick.
How do I create or manage my account?
You can use TierReader without an account, or sign in with your Google account to sync across devices. To sign in or out, open the app and go to Settings → Account. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, email support@tierreader.com and we'll process the request.
How do subscriptions and billing work?
TierReader offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and managed by Apple. To view, change, or cancel your subscription, open the iOS Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → TierReader. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore a purchase?
If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, open TierReader and go to Settings → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. If your subscription still doesn't appear, contact support@tierreader.com.
How do I request a refund?
All purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests are made directly through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you believe you were charged in error, we're happy to help — just reach out to us as well.
How does syncing and backup work?
Your reading history and vocabulary are stored on your device. You can optionally enable sync and backup to iCloud, Google Drive, or Dropbox from Settings → Sync. This lets you keep your progress if you change devices. Your synced data lives in your own cloud account and is governed by that provider's privacy policy.
A passage won't generate or the app seems stuck. What can I do?
Passage generation needs an internet connection. If something isn't loading:
- Check that you have a stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
- Fully close TierReader and reopen it.
- Make sure you're running the latest version from the App Store.
- Restart your device if the problem persists.
Which languages does TierReader support?
TierReader supports reading practice across a range of languages. Open the app and browse Settings → Language to see the current list, which we expand over time.
How is my data handled?
We collect only what's needed to provide the service and never sell your data. For full details, read our Privacy Policy.
